In 2008 the station in Kitere was founded. Kitere is, like Luagala and Nanyamba, west of Mtwara on the Makonde plateau. The families were overjoyed in the forgotten village of Kitere, a place where there was nothing but the poor mud huts when the first children moved into the new kindergarten. Almost 60 children are currently attending kindergarten. Many children in Kitere are still waiting for a place in kindergarten.
For the poor and for their own daily care, the sisters in the communities, like here in Kitere, have started growing vegetables and cattle on a farm. Rice, corn and vegetables are grown.
Last year the sisters started to plant tree saplings and are thus making a contribution to reforestation.
The water supply is ensured with rain tanks and now also with a well. This benefits the villagers as they no longer have to walk long distances to fetch water.
