Since 2010 the sisters have been living and working in Chamazi, a rapidly growing district on the outskirts of the capital Dar es Salaam.

In the congregation’s own kindergarten, the children learn, as in all of the sisters’ kindergartens, to read, do arithmetic and write according to the Montessori pedagogy and acquire other practical life skills.

After learning in Chamazi was continued in elementary school classes and the space shortage in the kindergarten was great, the congregation decided to build a school. In August 2018 it was inaugurated with a big party. Since then, teaching has been carried out in all classrooms and the school is regarded by the state as a model school. This can also be seen in the great learning success of our students: in a final exam last year, they took 4th place at regional level.

160 children are currently attending the kindergarten in Chamazi, 80 children are attending preschool and 280 children are receiving primary school education.

The dream of education has become a reality for many children and young people in Chamazi with the construction of the school. With access to education, children and young people now have the chance to break the cycle of hunger and poverty. School education and adequate nutrition guarantee them a decent existence. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to all donors from Germany – your support will directly benefit the children!

In the nursing home, which is located in the immediate vicinity of the school and kindergarten, guests from Europe or America can get used to the African climate in the simple rooms.
